POWERFUL PICTURES

 I chose this picture because I think its just perfect. I love how the quality of the picture is all gritty because it mirrors the mood of the picture. In the picture a man has just been shot and the Navy chaplain is giving the wounded solider his last rights. You can see the turmoil and chaos present in the picture.  The quality of the picture goes right along with the mood of this image and thats why I love it so much. I think this picture made the cut of the 40 most powerful pictures because everything just works in this picture. There is no error in this photograph, even the mistakes look great. A mans last moments on earth and the chaos of it all, its a very powerful picture.

 I chose this picture because its so powerful. The death of an elderly man waiting for a train in China is a terrible event, but in the darkness and sorrow comes magic and love as a monk prays for the recently passed man. The photographer set up the picture just perfect I wouldn't change anything, its very intriguing and powerful. I believe this picture made the top 40 cut because its just an all around good picture. It makes you feel something! Its a beautiful picture expressing a fascinating subject.

I chose this picture because I love the opposite characters exposed in this image. A couple making out and a police officer yielding a riot shield during rioting in Vancouver, British Columbia. It looks unreal almost and it really grabs your eye. I also like how the photographer set up the shot by focusing on the couple because their farther away then the police officer allowing us to see both characters in the photograph equally. I think this photograph made the top 40 cut because its so hectic and powerful and it portrays such poler opposites as well as the strength of love.
